Design-Build Remodeling in Blue Springs, MO
We work with a lot of homeowners in Blue Springs who know exactly what they want their space to look like but have no idea who's supposed to actually make that happen from start to finish.
One Team Handles Your Entire Remodel in Blue Springs, From the First Sketch to the Final Walkthrough
The standard remodeling process asks you to hire a designer, an architect, an engineer, a builder, a plumber, an electrician, and a cleaning crew, and then somehow keep all of them moving in the same direction. Most homeowners find that harder than expected, and more time-consuming than anyone told them upfront.
Rise Up Renovations runs the entire process under one roof. Our design-build remodeling service means one team handles design, permits, construction, and cleanup.
We’ve been doing this across Jackson County for over 15 years, and the feedback we hear most often isn’t about the finished result, though that part tends to come up too. It’s that the process was nowhere near as painful as people assumed it would be.

What Blue Springs Homeowners Say About Working With Us
D
Diane Rojas
After my mother broke her hip we had to do a bathroom remodel that we hadn’t planned for. Nic walked us through ever step, while processing all of our needs and subsequent requests.
The work done was high quality, professional and performed in the time frame promised. His staff is top notch and we plan on using Rise Up Renovations for any future projects we have.

Nic is so great to work with. He brings a wealth of knowledge coupled with an appreciation for the character of older homes. He included us on options for even the smallest details to make sure we were happy with the final result. We can’t wait to work with Nic again!
What Design-Build Remodeling Costs in Blue Springs, MO
- A 170 square foot kitchen remodel in Brookside, Kansas City, which included quartz countertops, a new sink, matte black floor tile, a custom microwave enclosure, and subway tile backsplash, came in at $19,000.
- A larger 200 square foot kitchen in Greenwood, MO with custom cabinet modifications, a touchless faucet, and peninsula extension came in at $28,000.
- A 160 square foot kitchen in Adrian, MO with stained concrete countertops, painted oak cabinets, and new LVP flooring throughout the house landed at $20,500.
Design work itself runs between $1,500 and $2,500, depending on the project. Half is due as a deposit, and the other half when you receive your permit-ready plans. If you already have your own design, we can work from it, and help with permits if the plans are solid.
These are real numbers from completed projects, and your project will be priced based on your specific space, scope, and material selections.
Reach out with what you have in mind and we’ll give you a straight estimate.
Five things that move the cost up or down:
- Scope of the project: A kitchen refresh and a full design-build remodel are priced very differently. The more rooms involved, or the more structural work required, the higher the total. Projects that include layout changes, wall removal, or additions to plumbing and electrical run higher than surface-level renovations. We scope everything during the initial assessment so nothing is vague when you sign.
- Design complexity: Straightforward layouts with standard finishes are faster to design and build. Kitchens with custom storage configurations, built-in appliances, or unusual footprints require more detailed plans and more time on-site. The design phase is where a lot of this gets worked out, and we present 2 to 3 floor plan options so you can see the tradeoffs before committing to any direction.
- Material selections: Countertop material, flooring, tile, cabinetry, and fixtures all sit at different price points. The difference between a laminate countertop and a custom quartz slab can be several thousand dollars on its own. We go through material options with you during the selection phase so you know exactly what each choice costs before anything is ordered.
- Cabinet work: Painting existing cabinets, modifying their configuration, or replacing them entirely each carry different price tags. In the Greenwood project above, cabinet modifications alone were $7,500. In the Adrian project, cabinet painting was $5,500. If your cabinetry needs significant work, it's worth budgeting for it as a separate line item.
- Permit and engineering requirements: Blue Springs has its own permitting process, and some projects, particularly those involving structural changes or load-bearing walls, may require engineering sign-off. We navigate all of this for you, but the permit fees and any required engineering reports do factor into the total cost. We account for these upfront so there are no surprises mid-project.

Common Questions About Design-Build Remodeling in Blue Springs
What's actually included in the design cost?
The design fee, which typically runs between $1,500 and $2,500, covers a full 2D AutoCAD plan of your space with all the detail required to submit for permits. After an initial meet and measure session, we present 2 to 3 floor plan options with elevations and incorporate your feedback before finalizing. If you want help with material and finish selections beyond that, our designer can assist for an additional fee.
What if I already have a design?
We’re happy to work from plans you already have. If your existing design includes everything needed for permitting in Blue Springs, we can take it straight to the permit application stage. If there are gaps, we’ll tell you what’s missing and what it takes to fill them before anything moves forward.
Do I have to be home during the construction phase?
No. Some clients are present every day, and others prefer to step back and let us handle it. Either way works. You’ll have full access to daily logs and progress photos through JobTread, so you’re never out of the loop regardless of where you are. A lot of our clients in Blue Springs find it easier to let the build run and check in on updates rather than coordinating their schedule around ours.
How does financing work, and am I likely to qualify?
We’ve partnered with Upgrade to offer zero interest and no payments for a full year. Upgrade has served over 2.5 million people and processed over $25 billion in financing, so the process is well-established. We can walk you through the application when you’re ready. It’s worth exploring if you’d rather keep your cash available during the build.
